| Imperfect, but still a great accomplishment |
Allowing 31 million Americans (my family included) to breathe a sigh of relief, the Supreme Court today upheld the Affordable Care Act (or Obamacare, as I prefer to call it just to piss off republicans) for the third time. The final tally was Great Democratic Program 7, republican pinheads 2.
To steal a line President Joe Biden used when the law was signed by Barack Obama, this is still "...a big fucking deal." One in ten Americans will keep their healthcare, and that doesn't even note the countless millions who will keep theirs because healthcare providers still cannot discriminate against those folks with pre-existing conditions (as noted above, this is very important to my family, as my wife, daughter, and youngest son have pre-existing conditions).
Just to put a cherry on top, my guess is there's a loser at Moron-A-Lago who isn't having a very good day, to boot.
