Fascism never dies

Never stop fighting till the fight is done...

I came across a protest song by Paolo Nutini called "Iron Sky," wherein Nutini  splices in a speech from Charlie Chaplin's seminal 1940 film (I say "seminal" like I'm some sort of film auteur and I've never actually seen it) The Great Dictator (the film is a denunciation of fascism and its denizens), and as I listened to it I was amazed at how much the words applied today, eighty years down the road when fascism is raising its ugly head not in Europe, but here in our very own United States.  To wit:

"To those who can hear me, I say, do not despair.
The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed,
The bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress.
The hate of men will pass, and dictators die,
And the power they took from the people will return to the people.
And so long as men die, liberty will never perish.
Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men--
Machine men with machine minds and machine hearts!
You are not machines, you are not cattle, you are men!
You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful,
To make this life a wonderful adventure.
Let us use that power!
Let us all unite!"

Words to empower us to stomp the cretinous loser Donald Trump and his pathetic followers into oblivion.

It Was an Insurrection--the Blood of Those Killed on January 6th Is on Republican Hands
