| Another embarrassment from The New York Times |
The New York Times this week published an execrable account of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' pitiful efforts (Florida once again leads the nation in new cases and their hospitalizations are exploding) against the Delta variant (DeSantis variant?) in which they wondered if DeSantis playing Russian roulette with Florida citizen's lives would prove to be a savvy political move for him vis a vis the 2024 republican candidate for President.
The inhumanity inherent in the Times pondering is beyond pathetic. When 650,000 people have died, a fucking game of political chicken is not something that should be celebrated--it should be vilified as vehemently as possible. Even worse, DeSantis is playing God for nothing more than selfish ends. It isn't about "freedom"--it's about DeSantis happily letting people--including children--get sick and die to satisfy his own political ends.
Anyone who spends one thin dime supporting a news organization as abhorrent as The New York Times deserves all the evil karma they have coming their way.
