 Anyone who thinks, in light of Ruth Bader Ginsburg's passing, that republicans are going to honor their 2016 claim that Supreme Court Justices should not be confirmed during election years...I've got some magic seeds to sell you which if you plant them will sprout hundred dollar bills.

Democrats should make every effort to protest--scream at the top of their lungs, point out again and again what republicans did to Merrick Garland in 2016, use it as a cudgel against vulnerable republican Senators in the election (Tillis, Collins, McSally, Ernst, Graham, Gardner, Daines), and vote lock step against any nominee that Trump puts forward.  

And then after republicans put their abject hypocrisy on display by confirming a Justice during an election year, should Joe Biden win and Democrats prevail in the Senate, Biden should announce the day after his inauguration that Americans have had it with republican bullshit and that he will be nominating four Justices to the Supreme Court.  He'll be basking in the glow of his election honeymoon, we'll have spent months explaining just how corrupt republicans are, and we'll probably be close to half a million dead Americans from the coronavirus.  Republicans will shit themselves, but the majority of Americans won't give a damn.  They'll just want peace of mind.

As the saying goes, when they bring a knife, we bring a gun.
