A hero for us in the working class

A liberal lioness

I would be remiss is I failed to note that Barbara Ehrenreich, one of the great writers and voices for American liberals, passed away last week at the age of 81.  I had the good fortune to read several of her books, a number of which were indictments on the failed promises of the American Dream.  Her book Nickel and Dimed, in which she posed as a working class American and worked a number of minimum wage jobs and juggled a losing battle with expenses just like far too many Americans, should be required reading in every high school in America.

Her compassion for the poor, her anger at the rigged Class War, her questioning of America's myths, and her persistent humor in spite of it all should be beacons for all of us who fight the good fight for a better America for each and every one of us, not just the rich.

Though her legacy will abide, she will be missed.

Republican = Traitor

Peace,
