I guess he doesn't realize that probably half the people there can tell him, firsthand, how dangerous Afghanistan was and that until you have IEDs in the streets of DC, he should shut the fuck up.

Trump once again showing the world what an idiot he is

Iran will be just another long boondoggle that the GOP dragged us into
For those unconditionally cheering the attacks on Iran, remember that our early strikes in Afghanistan and Iraq were “successful”. But we ended up getting dragged into costly wars that created more terrorists than we killed. The American people haven’t forgotten that.

New: CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News are hosting some of the primary architects of the Afghanistan War to serve as expert voices, even though many of them are responsible for deliberately misleading the American public for years https://t.co/84JjHp6bk5

I can't hear you!
- Republicans will demonize the Syrian refugees and call for walls! border security! but the murderous cretins who carried out these attacks are exactly what the refugees are trying to escape.
- You can forget those crockofshit tears republicans are shedding for the French--the right absolutely despises France and its people.
- There will be more Americans killed in the next five days by guns than were killed in the Paris attacks--and unlike Paris, the American deaths will continue ad infinitum.
- Most importantly, this whole mess is republicans fault. From the Bush administration's having its head up its ass on 9/11, to their piss poor operation of the war in Afghanistan, to the ill-advised and ill-conceived Iraq War, to their disastrous torture program, republicans have done more to create utter chaos and stoke hatred than President Obama could in ten lifetimes.

What is it good for?
Marco Rubio thinks hunger and homelessness are the least of our problems--they won't matter if for the, oh, second time in our 239 year history some idiots decide to try to blow something up in the United States. Because starving and the brutal elements of nature never killed anyone.
Lindsay Graham is desperately trying to relight John McCain's pretty much permanently snuffed out torch which would call for war in the Antarctic if a penguin farted.
It's beginning to look like the republican strategy for foreign policy in 2016 will be war, war, and more war--there's nothing like calling for the killing of people in foreign lands to excite the GOP base.
And this should be the Democrats response:
Good God, y'all--didn't you bozos learn anything from Iraq and Afghanistan?

Once again, we learn nothing from history
For fuck's sake, we still have in our collective rearview mirror the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the lives lost and permanetly disabled, and the disaster they both wreaked on the American economy, and how little difference either of them really made...and still a majority of Americans want to start another one? For fucking what?
Someone needs to boot a lot of Americans in the ass and remind them of the futility of fighting other people's battles (see also, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan).

Bowe and arrows
Unless, of course, you're the republican party and you're as desperate for a scandal to fire up your base (such are the disadvantages of not having an agenda that can do the same) as a heroin addict is for a full syringe of smack.
The faux republican uproar over President Obama exchanging five enemy combatants for the only American prisoner of war in the Afghanistan War, Bowe Bergdahl, has actually gone beyond the point of being repulsive. Bergdahl may or may not have deserted/committed acts of treason (amazing at how much republicans scream about upholding our Constitution until it's no longer convenient--see also, presumption of innocence), but you would think Obama had exchanged Bergdahl for Hermann Goring. In fact, in their never ending mud slinging at President Obama, Bergdahl is actually worse than a Nazi, because, um, he wasn't friendly with his fellow soldiers and because his father has a beard.
Six million Jews compared to aloofness and facial hair--yeah, that makes a lot of fucking sense.
Frankly, this is just another in a long line of republican bullshit that proves that everything--and I mean everything--that is wrong with America today begins and ends with the republican party and its brain dead minions.

On Benghazi and bears
You know what's really amazing? That after being asleep at the wheel for 9/11, after two disastrously conducted wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that helped to bankrupt our economy, there is anyone anywhere (outside of Putin giving a shout out to his fanboys) who would take republicans seriously when it comes to foreign policy.
It's like asking Fred Flintstone about anti-lock brakes.

Hindsight is 20/1,000,000
All that, and yet, as of today, George W. Bush has a positive approval rating from the American people for his years in office, 49% to 46%. For a man who will most likely go down as one of the three worst Presidents in U. S. History.
I'd say something about those who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it, but a mere six years after the most corrupt President in U. S. history was forced to resign from office we elected another republican who began the never ending economic downward spiral that the working men and women of this country have been sucking on for the last thirty years.
Word of warning: hold onto your wallets, folks.

Twenty-five reasons to vote for Obama: #16--George W. Bush
Let me remind you:
- In 2001 his administration fell asleep at the wheel and the tragedy of 9/11--and 3000 American deaths were upon us.
- They proceeded to get us into the first war America has fought since WWII that was actually necessary and proceeded to run it as badly as a blind man drives a car. Over 1000 American troop deaths and still counting.
- As if one war wasn't enough, on the basis of faulty and completely erroneous information, they got us into a second war which went even worse than the first. Combined, the two wars put a huge drain on the country's finances and we're still paying the debt (and will be for some time) for funds that could have been put to much better use. Over 4000 American troops killed in this one.
- Proving that being asleep was the one thing they were good at, his administration blew the run up and the response to one of the strongest hurricanes in our nation's history--Hurricane Katrina--resulting in the deaths of over 1000 Americans.
- As if all of that wasn't bad enough, thanks to deregulation, a false housing bubble, and once again, falling asleep as they guided the mothership, the economy collapsed resulting in the loss of over five million jobs, nearly a fifty percent decline in the stock market, and a recession the likes of which this nation hasn't seen since the Great Depression of the 1930s.
And we really want to hand the keys over to his blood brother, Willard Romney?
Thanks, but no fucking thanks.

Twenty-five reasons to vote for Obama: #18--Iraq and Afghanistan
Ahem: Mission Accomplished.
The drawdown in Iraq has been completed. Afghanistan begins in 2014. Both have been completed with a modicum of fanfare. Both have been done safely and securely. While there are no guarantees, both countries have a viable chance to stand on their own. Our standing in the world has been greatly enhanced.
There is absolutely no question that Presdent Obama's foreign policy actions have been successful. For all the talk about Democrats being soft on defense, the President has shown we are anything but.

Thanks, but I'll pass
A moment of silence or remembrance for those who were killed or gave their lives in service to their country and fellow Americans on 9/11/01 is certainly a noble effort. As for the rest...you can have it.
For newspapers and edutainment channels, it's become just another way to make money. Frankly, after ten years there is neither anything new nor anything of genuine interest to add. They should save their "what the day means to you" stories for the Fourth of July, Memorial Day, MLK Day, or Labor Day.
In many respects, Bin Laden's efforts have succeeded. Thanks to republicans, Americans are more divided than ever since 9/11--and that division is downright rancorous. Our moral compass has been shattered: we let a President lie us into an unnecessary war that killed thousands of Americans and never held him to account; we turned a blind eye to torture and are a lesser nation for it. We chewed up and spit out our precious freedoms, enacting civil rights killing measures like the Patriot Act and giving the Presidency untold power to spy on us. Ten years ago, the tea party would not have been considered mainstream--they would have been called what they are: a lunatic fringe hell bent on the further destruction of America.
But Bin Laden's greatest success has been the financial ruin that is the American economy since 9/11. Over a trillion dollars has been spent on two largely failed wars yet one quarter of our children now live in poverty.
Billions have been spent on Homeland Security and further increasing an already bloated Defense budget, yet our roads and schools are falling apart. In fear, too many Americans helped to elect people who promised to protect them but whose main objective was to lower the standard of living for the many and imcrease it for the wealthy few. Unemployment in America is over 9% and underemployment is over 16%, yet Sen. Kyl is threatening to quit the Catfood Commission II if there are any more cuts to the Defense Budget. Want to guess the odds of one of the six Democrats on the Super Committee threatening to quit over cuts to the Social Safety Net? Thanks to Citizens United, corporations can now effectively buy our elections--too many of us shrug our shoulders because, hey, we can still afford the cable and cell phone bills and never mind the shrinking middle class, the backbone of our country, and the fact that most of us are a medical crisis away from financial ruin.
Patriots Day? No, thanks--I'll say a prayer for the innocents and heroes killed on 9/11/01 and spend the rest of my time working on the progressive values that make America greater and not so much on the lip service that has lessened our country over the past ten years.
Peace,
emaycee
