A disgrace to the human race

Trump’s response to the death of the honorable Robert Mueller: “Good, I’m glad he’s dead.” This is how this grotesque human, one of the worst to walk the planet, behaves—disgracing the office that he poisons daily. The world will be a better place when he no longer can.

The future is now

Acting for what is right makes electoral might
One of the unfortunate aspects of having been a Democrat for over forty years is watching the party continually act in the interests of what they think will help them win elections rather than doing what is right to do only to lose said elections because the American electorate is not particularly fond of rewarding cowardice.

I keep coming back to this as I watch Nancy Pelosi tiptoe around beginning impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump and Elizabeth Warren lead a full on charge to show the American people that the President is not above the law and should be held accountable for his administration's corruption, collusion, and its obstruction of justice.  Warren is fighting for our Democracy; Pelosi is normalizing Trump's behavior and our party will be the worse for it.

If Donald Trump wins in 2020 and the Democrats did not impeach, I can guarantee you that Elizabeth Warren will still be a well-respected Senator from Massachusetts, and Nancy Pelosi's legacy, reputation, and career will be in tatters.

Impeach now.  There is no other option.

Tit for tat

Go get 'em, Bill!

Since Donald Trump is claiming he should get an extra two years in office because of the Mueller investigation, which actually proved him guilty of both colluding with Russia and obstructing justice, does this mean that Bill Clinton should get an extra four years in office after the Whitewater investigation proved nothing more than that he had a misguided affair with a White House intern?

Just wondering, because those of us who aren't wealthy could sure use a comeback of the Clinton economy which did a whole hell of a lot more for us regular folk than the "Trump" economy...

All ye need to know

Truth will be beauty after we see the full report

All you need to know about "Attorney General" William Barr's "press conference" today on the release of the redacted (key word!) Mueller report is that he noted not once, not twice, not three times, not four times, but five times that Mueller found no evidence of collusion.

His denials mean beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia, an enemy of the United States of America.

Period.

On the Mueller Report

Compare and contrast...Gandhi, Shit for Brains Trump

It may well be that the Mueller Report was unable to prove that Donald Trump colluded with Russia and/or obstructed justice.  But until the full report is released, I ain't believing shit.

William Barr is not an Attorney General in the conventional sense--like Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Kellyanne Conway, as he made clear in his confirmation hearings, he is nothing more than a paid political spokesman for Donald Trump.

And since the Trump administration has made lying one of its central tenets, why on earth would anyone believe anything one of its members says concerning Trump's culpability?

I can handle the truth, but there's no way in hell I'm taking Trump's word for it.

What if they gave a revolution and nobody came?

The Trump revolution
Donald Trump this week claimed he wasn't worried about impeachment, because if he was impeached the people would revolt.

One presumes he's talking about the forty percent of Americans who approve of the job he's doing (I'd like to say I'm surprised that many Americans are that stupid but I drive the highways of this nation every day), the vast majority of whom aren't about to get up off the couch, turn off Netflix, put away their Doritos and salsa, give up their jobs, leave the wife and kids, and get off their phones before finding out if the Bears won to fight for a fat ass pumpkin head who has shown time and again that if you ain't rich he ain't giving a shit.

So he can count on a few hundred numbnuts who will show up and wave their guns for a bit, and then tuck tail and run once the police show up.

But here's hoping the fantasy lasts until at least the White House door is slapping his ass on his way out.

Law and disorder

Apparently laws only apply to Democrats

It sure was a lot of fun this past weekend to watch the party of law and order trip all over their tongues trying to whitewash the fact that Donald Trump committed a felony by using campaign funds to pay off two women he'd had an affair with--especially when you're old enough to remember republican heads exploding because Bill Clinton lied under oath about an extramarital affair.

Not nearly as fun, though, as watching them explain, the next time a prominent Democrat has a legal problem, why it's okay for Trump to break the law but not a Democrat.  Here's hoping our national media takes a lesson or two from the reformed Cowardly Lion and actually puts them on the spot.

Better yet, here's hoping that Michigan's governor-elect, Gretchen Whitmer is right, and that republicans are trading short term gain for long term pain.

What's the matter here?

Donald Trump's next home?

In light of Donald Trump's claim that he can pardon himself (and good luck with that one, numbnuts), am I the only one wondering exactly how bad the crimes Trump committed are?

I mean for fuck's sake, if he's threatening to pardon himself that means he thinks even his fellow republicans won't forgive him for his sins.

Methinks perhaps Dante should have created a tenth circle of hell....

Putin's puppets

That's a good boy, Donnie!

This:  U.K. public health officials warned, in light of Russia's attempted poisonings of former spy Sergie Skripal and his daughter Yulia, that hundreds of civilians may have come into contact with the poison.  So, not only is Russia murdering its political enemies on a foreign soil, it's willing to let civilians be collateral damage.  And what is tough guy Comrade Trump's response?   A couple of weak-kneed sanctions, most of which involve low level actors from Robert Mueller's investigation of the Trump campaign's possible collusion with Russia.  And the reaction of republicans in Congress?  A big fat zilch.

Vladimir Putin's Russia is at war with the West and Donald Trump and his republican cohorts are showing all the backbone of wet spaghetti.

Wonder what all their wealthy benefactors are going to do after glorified Mafia don Putin is done bitch slapping Trump and comes after their money?

About fucking time

Are you listening, American media?

When Trump toadie Stephen Miller refused to answer any substantive questions on CNN concerning the allegations in Michael Wolff's book, Fire and Fury, about the towering inferno that is the Trump administration, host Jake Tapper had finally had enough and cut Miller short, saying, "And I think I've wasted enough of my viewers' time."

Thank Christ--the time for pretending that Trump remotely resembles anything close to normal is long past.  The man is an abomination, a psychopathic liar who is completely unfit to shine shoes in the White House, let alone be President.  He is an embarrassment to everything the United States of America has ever stood for.

Now if only we could get the mainstream media to put a muzzle on Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan and their gaggle of thieves, all of whom have sold out their country for a few dollars more.
