Have you taken seven vacations this year? JD Vance has

Oh, JD’s just practicing for when he gets handed the big job.

The privileged elite

Remember when Vice President Harris bought a few quality cooking items at a French cookery store with her own money and legacy media melted down? J.D. Vance literally used the Army Corps of Engineers to manipulate a public waterway, so he’d have an easier time kayaking and it’s a blip on the radar.

Hungry for the union

Ever wonder why republicans, Corporate America, and rich folks are so eager to either bust unions or prevent them from organizing?  Take a good look at that graph above--it's the best way the bastards can make sure that the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer.

Sit down and shut the fuck up

Pretty much says it all for me

Mark Cuban decided he hasn't made enough idiotic remarks in his lifetime so he went on some lame-ass interview program and proclaimed that Elizabeth Warren, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Bernie Sanders would feel much differently about wealth distribution if they had been as successful as he has in the business world, all the while belittling their business acumen.

No, no they wouldn't.  Warren, Ocasio-Cortez, and Sanders have all shown again and again that, unlike Mark Cuban, they actually give a shit about their fellow Americans.  And also unlike Cuban, they built their political careers on fighting for average Americans and were elected for their policies in favor of average Americans (unlike Cuban who, should he decide on a political career, would be elected much like Donald Trump was because he can buy his election).

While Cuban did note that income inequality is a problem and needs to be dealt with, he offered zero in the way of ideas as to how to combat it.  What a surprise from the man whose response to sexual harassment within the Dallas Mavericks (Cuban owns the team) organization was to bury his head in the sand.

Frankly, after sixty years on this planet I've pretty much had it with rich assholes telling me how the world should be...especially when it completely revolves around their greed.

The dice are loaded

You can't have too much money

I'm shocked--shocked I tell you--to find out that America's wealthy elite are lining up to help re-elect the worst President in the history of our republic.

Amazing what a massive tax cut for rich people can do, isn't it?

The wealthy weren't too keen on Donald Trump in 2016, a large number of them choosing to stay on the sidelines.  But now that he's proven himself to be a first class racist, adept at stoking anti-Semitic hate, slept with a porn star while his third wife was recovering from having their child, colluded with Russia, cozies up to dictators, obstructed justice, sends out deranged tweets virtually daily, and has shown himself to be a prize idiot again and again, he's suddenly a-o.k.?

Give me a fucking break.  The wealthy in this country are not to be admired nor emulated--they care nothing for America or Americans and only serve their own interests.  They're not builders or innovators--they're parasites who are sucking our country and our planet dry.  They know nothing of compassion or shame and have all the human worth of a rabbit turd.

And they're more than happy to let our children starve if it means another nickel in their pockets.

This isn't about envy--I happily accept the fact that I don't have the talent to be ultra-wealthy.  What I am not content to accept is that I have the talent to live a a financially comfortable life and yet I live month to month like a vast majority of my fellow Americans.  And the reason I and so many of us do is because the wealthy have bought the stairway to financial heaven through our government (right to work for less laws, the war against unions, their fight against universal healthcare, giving U. S. Cabinet posts to unqualified people like Betsy Devos only because they're wealthy, owning the republican party) are unwilling to let us achieve our fair share because it means less for them.

Supporting a horrible President and even worse human being simply to increase your share of an already avaricious wealth is a sure way for America to end up like France, circa 1789, with an incredibly unpleasant result for people of too much means.

For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap

Et tu, Catholic Church?
In light of racism shown by its students from Covington Catholic High School (Kentucky--who would have ever guessed?) as they chanted "Go back to the reservation" and threatened Native American Vietnam War Veteran Nathan Phillips while wearing their MAGA hats, the Catholic Conference of Kentucky issued the following:
We condemn the actions of the Covington Catholic High School students toward Nathan Phillips specifically, and Native Americans in general, Jan. 18 after the March for Life, in Washington, D.C.  We extend our deepest apologies to Mr. Phillips. This behavior is opposed to the Church's teachings on the dignity and respect of the human person.
As usual, this is complete and utter horseshit from the Catholic Church.

Under Pope John Paul II, the Catholic Church sold its soul to the republican party in America in return for its anti-abortion and homophobic policies that align perfectly with Catholic Church doctrine.  That the republican party was also the party of racism was conveniently ignored (name one fucking prominent Catholic who has said word one about the party's history of disenfranchising people of color or Trump's blatant racism).  Now that the Church has been once again made to look like the hateful religion that it is, they've suddenly had a come to Jesus moment?

Go fuck yourselves--this is the deal with the devil the Church made and now it can watch even more of its disciples flee and its piety made a mockery of.  It will be richly deserved.

And once again (see also, Rome, Hitler, Mussolini, Sex Abuse) the Catholic Church is on the wrong side of history.

Here's hoping eventually the pimple on the butt of humanity that is the Catholic Church will be popped and the world can begin to heal from the misery it has wrought.

Whither the American Dream?

Happy days are here again...if you're wealthy.

We are number one--the champs, numero uno, the winners--in income inequality.  In fact, it isn't even close--our nearest competitor, the U.K., had the share of income among the top 1% increase by 6%, while we increased by 10%.  Seems it's a confluence of cutting taxes for the wealthy and regulations for corporate America...and having the both of them use their extra money to cut their taxes and their regulations even more.

And who got screwed?  You and me--they got richer and the trickle down that republicans would have us believe was a foregone conclusion never came close to fruition.  (Truth be told, any time you hear about how wealth is going to trickle down you'd better hold onto your wallet or purse--they're bound to be quite a bit lighter monetarily shortly).

And the American dream?  Why it ended up in the pockets of the moneyed elite.

And they don't give a good goddamn what kind of future you or your kids have.

Peace,
emaycee
