Bumbling on down the road

These two would be a massive improvement over Trump and Pence

And this was the week that was:

• Mike Pence visits the Mayo Clinic, a world renowned hospital, and doesn't wear a mask because he cares more about Donald Trump's ego than he does his fellow Americans.
• Donald Trump's valet who delivers his fat ass boss Big Macs and Diet Cokes tests positive for coronavirus.
• Donald Trump visits a Honeywell plant making masks for our healthcare workers...and doesn't wear a mask.
• Mike Pence visits a nursing home, one of the hot spots for the coronavirus due to their being full of elderly Americans, doesn't wear a mask and then jokes about delivering empty boxes of PPE equipment for a photo op.
• The spokeswoman for the Vice President tests positive for coronavirus.

You know, the complete and utter incompetence of the Trump Bozo Bus would be absolutely fucking hilarious if they weren't spreading the coronavirus everywhere they go.

The abject cluelessness of these people is mind boggling.

What happens when you put republicans in charge

Republicans are fond of saying that Government isn't the solution, Government is the problem.

But that's being less than honest on their part.  Government really isn't the problem.

Republicans running Government is.

Open up that golden gate

Watching the republicans this week show yet again how little of a shit they give about the American people as they do everything in their power to shut the government down, and feeling the frustration that so many Americans feel with republicans complete and total inability to lead or to govern, it was nice to see this piece by Digby showing that when you elect sane people as they did in California over the last couple of election cycles, government can get good things done for the American people.

From immigration reform to sensible gun control, from balancing their budget to leading America in jobs created, from allowing gay marriage to protecting a woman's right to choose, California is leading the way for the rest of America.

And with demographics being what they are (lots of old white people dying, lots of Latinos turning 18), it's only a matter of time before more and more of America is seeing the same results as those in California.

California I'm coming home indeed.

Motto citizens

Seems their single-minded quest to do absolutely nothing to create jobs or stimulate the U.S. economy is not enough for the fuck-ups on the right.  Nope, they voted this week to affirm (for the third time, previously done in 1956 and 2002) "In God we trust" as our national motto.  When President Obama questioned the republican resolve on helping ordinary Americans get back to work after the vote, one Tom Price (R-GA) said the vote was important to "remind" Obama about the country's motto.

Hmmm.

Pretty sure the only thing President Obama was reminded of was just how piss ant of a gesture it was, and just how fucking ignorant and incompetent his republican colleagues are.

Well done, ladies and gentlemen of the right!
