President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday night toggled between being remarkably dull and profoundly racist. During a screed against undocumented immigrants, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) shouted at Trump, yelling, “You have killed Americans,” and “You should be ashamed.”

Another proud week for Michigan

A platform in the republican party

Amidst a Detroit Metro Times story this week about a republican Facebook page (since shut down) wherein members advocated for the burning, shooting, beating, and raping of (among others) Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, M-08 representative Elissa Slotkin, Michigan congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, and Minnesota congresswoman Ilhan Omar, State Senator Peter Lucido (R--of course--Shelby Township) responded to a question about his participation in said group by Michigan Advance reporter Allison Donahue by suggesting that a group of boys nearby could have " a lot of fun" with her.  And then proceeded to explain away his remarks as just the way he talks to young women.

How this utter cretin could even still be a state senator is beyond me. 

While Lucido did eventually give the usual half-assed republican apology, it's important to remember--especially as we vote this November--that Lucido and those who commented in the above noted Facebook page are not the exception in today's republican party, they are the rule.

And we should let any business thinking about setting up shop here in the Wolverine State know exactly what Michigan republicans think of their female employees, and their mothers, wives, and daughters.

With the chants of "Send her back!" still echoing from Donald Trump's Nazi campaign rally yesterday, it's finally time to be frank and call Trump's supporters exactly what they are:  pigs.

It's not about economic anxiety, it's not about Ilhan Omar's critiques of Trump, and it's not about making America great again:  it's racism, pure and simple.

Trump's supporters are not the salt of the earth, they aren't good people, and they certainly aren't Christians.  They're just a bunch of hateful assholes.

If it looks like bullshit and smells like bullshit...

There is very little on this earth right now more tiresome than listening to republicans lecture Democrats on the racism of Ralph Northan (blackface), the perversity of Justin Fairfax (now has two accusers of sexual assault), and the antisemitism of Ilhan Omar (had the audacity to question U.S. policy on Israel).

Fucking spare me--republicans are a political party that prides itself on hating anyone that's not white and Christian, and they've bent over backwards to excuse the pervert in chief, Donald Trump, who is lapping the field when it comes to sexual deviants in the White House.  This is not to excuse the Democrats' behavior (pathetic, except for Omar, who again merely didn't kowtow to Israel)--but republicans really need to take a good look in the mirror before they let their tongues wag.

So please do us all a favor and sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up.  Your fifteen minutes are circling down the toilet as the Democratic train keeps rolling right over your worthless asses.
