KO'ing everyone's 401k the week they started bragging about murdering citizens in the street on camera is the behavior of people who are on actual drugs. Not metaphorically, it's the behavior of people with underlying mental illness on uppers and steroids who are starting to feel cornered.

The drugs aren't working
Powell to Trump: Fuck you!
Wow. DOJ has launched a criminal investigation of Fed chair Jerome Powell over testimony to Congress on renovation costs. In this video, Powell says the move is purely pretextual, and arises from the Fed’s refusal to implement Trump’s wishes in place of its own best judgment on interest rates.

The only thing between us and Trump's economic disaster
(WSJ: free) Chairman Powell of the Federal Reserve is one smart character. Now waiting the next two months to see what the tariffs and the economy will do over sixty days. He will protect us as much as possible. Grateful for him. www.wsj.com/economy/cent...

Speaking of economic data from the Trump Administration, on Wednesday they claimed that the GDP grew 3% in Q2 of this year, a "better than expected" report... There is absolutely no legitimate reason to believe that those numbers are real either. www.cnbc.com/2025/07/30/g...

Donnie's dementia getting worse by the day
How mentally broken does he have to be? He just said publicly he frankly can't understand how Powell was nominated, and yet, he is the one who nominated him. He can't tell one year or president from the next. He isn't well. They are waiting for him in hell...

The stable genius misreads the room, and once again reality bites
The latest Fed survey shows how companies are responding to higher tariffs, and the top response is that companies are passing cost increases through to consumers. In last place: "Relocating production or services to the U.S.” Source: www.apolloacademy.com/how-are-firm...

Powell is the only thing between us and another Great Depression
EARLY MORNING TANTRUM Trump, predictably, posts an angry message about Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell after Powell told the truth about the impact of Trump’s reckless tariffs on the economy, saying his “termination cannot come fast enough.”

Really wondering if this is flat out sabotage to hurt the Democrats in November
The underlying problem is not wage-price inflation.
— Robert Reich (@RBReich) September 25, 2022
It’s profit-price inflation.
The Fed’s rate hikes will hurt average workers by slowing the economy — making it harder for workers to get wage increases and causing many to lose their jobs.

This is nothing new--racism and misogyny are the republican party's metier
NEW: Blake Masters just suggested that America’s economic problems are because of the amount of Black people, women, and gay people working at the Federal Reserve. https://t.co/Rq5bYQV2br

| Richer man and poorer man |
One of the side effects of the shit show that is Donald Trump's Presidency is the fact that important stories fall by the wayside in the interim of whatever the Idiot-In-Chief is tweeting. Just last week the Federal Reserve released a study that showed the top 1% of Americans have gained $21 trillion in wealth since 1989, while the bottom 50% of us lost $900 billion.
This is not sustainable.
This shows that the American Dream is out of the reach of a majority of Americans.
But the media will keep on reporting Trump's tweets so they can sell more papers and more ad time.
They just shouldn't be surprised when their empires burn to the ground in the coming economic firestorm.
Fuck Donald Trump,

Why I'm not a fortuneteller
It's a good thing I don't try to earn a living by making predictions--on August 4th, I predicted that despite all of our petitions, bitching and bellyaching, and threats to disown President Obama, he would appoint Larry Summers as the new Chairman of the Federal Reserve and our miserable economic lives would continue ad nauseum.
Larry Summers went and fucked up a perfectly good prediction by announcing he was withdrawing his name for consideration as the new Chairman of the Federal Reserve because he feared (perhaps rightly so) that he would be too acrimonius of a choice for the President.
As my father would say, fuck me to tears. I'm wrong and we won--I could get used to this.
Wonder if I should start making predictions on how President Obama will handle the upcoming debt ceiling negotiations and his cuts to Social Security....
Peace,

Chump Summers
But with all the rigamarole over Larry Summers becoming the next Chairman of the Federal Reserve, I thought, what the fuck, why not?
Here's what's going to happen: we will be asked to sign hundreds, nay thousands, of petitions asking President Obama to appoint anyone but Larry Summers, there will be much hand wringing, hundreds upon hundreds of blog posts explaining why this will be horrible, and the MSNBC bunch will have countless pieces reinforcing these beliefs.
And President Obama will appoint him anyway.
Summers will not be as big of a disaster as Alan Greenspan (Greenspan has set a pretty high bar) but he will do absolutely nothing--absolutely nothing--to help the poor and the middle class, but will insure the rich keep getting richer.
It's a good thing I enjoy eating so much, because this existential cynicism is enough these days to make me think about giving up the fight and going back to writing fiction.
Peace,
emaycee
