Hypocrisy, thy name is republicans

There just may be a God after all:

A Texas grand jury has decided not to indict a Houston Planned Parenthood clinic, finding no evidence that the clinic had done anything illegal.  They did, however, decide to indict the two bozos who shot the film purportedly showing the clinic talking about profiting from the sale of unborn fetuses for tampering with government evidence, and one of the suspects for the illegal sale and purchase of human body parts.

Despite the fact that the grand jury found no evidence of wrongdoing, republicans, are absolutely apoplectic, continuing with their lies concerning Planned Parenthood and the selling of fetus parts and defending the two newly indicted defendants.  Apparently, as long as you're pursuing the republican agenda, lying, cheating, and breaking the law are completely okey dokey.

I must have not gotten the memo--I didn't realize that lying, cheating, and breaking the law had become Christian virtues....

Dear God

Should there turn out to be, after I depart this vale, a God in heaven, I think the first question I will ask Her will be why it was that rich people were always so convinced that our world would be a better place if poor people made less money.

Carly Fiorina this week became the latest ultra wealthy person to proclaim her opposition to the federal minimum wage, saying it didn't make sense to pay people who live in Iowa the same as people who live in New York City.  Fiorina, who failed massively as the CEO of Hewlett-Packard yet walked away with over $100 million (the rest of us get 26 weeks of unemployment pay when we fail at our jobs), seemed not to understand that states were free to set a higher minimum wage and that the federal wage was a starting point, lest our fellow Americans in the South set a minimum wage of a dollar an hour and we have to send even more of our tax dollars to bail them out.

The second question I would have for God, of course, would be if rich people had to spend eternity getting slapped upside the head for being such assholes.

It sucks to be a republican (not that I care)

Well, well, well--seems the Koch Brothers had a big Please Kiss Our Asses For Money event this weekend featuring the usual republican minions (Jeb!, Rubio, Walker, Cruz, Fiorina) and Donald Trump sent out a tweet that asked, mockingly, if the republican candidates were "Puppets?"

Yes, yes they are.  And what's even worse for the republican party is that they can't even fight back against Trump's comment--they've become so beholden to billionaires that even the traditional media would laugh them off the stage if they even thought about refuting it.

Dangling from those troublesome strings couldn't happen to a nicer group of people.

How many more bozos can fit on this bus?

It's a great day to be alive...and a Democrat.

Say what you will about Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Marco Rubio (none of whom will be the next President of the United States) but at least all of them have won elections to the U. S. Senate.  The latest two to join the republican race to get crushed by Hillary Clinton in the Presidential election of 2016 stand out quite a bit because neither of them has done much of anything to be considered a viable candidate for the republican nomination--unless you consider failing miserably or being cuckoo for cocoa puffs two solid qualities for a U. S. President.

The first to declare today was Carly Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett-Packard, best known for failing as their CEO and being one of the few republicans to get crushed (by Sen. Barbara Boxer) in the republican wave of 2010 (she lost by double digits).  Her big claim is that she is the one candidate who can look good criticizing Hillary Clinton because she's a woman, too.  Unfortunately, Fiorina is just as anti-woman as any other republican and there's a better chance that President emaycee will be taking the oath of office in January of 2017 than there is that Fiorina will be doing anything other than watching Secretary Clinton take the oath on television on that same date.

The second was former neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who, for lack of a better term, is fucking nuts.  Carson's claim to fame is that he compared Obamacare to slavery--because so many people who didn't sign up were whipped or had appendages chopped off.  Other than that he appears a lot on Fox News, I can think of no other reason Carson is in the race.  On the bright side, if Carson ever says, "You know, running for President isn't neurosurgery" he'll be the only person in the race who really knows it isn't neurosurgery....

The only way either of these two dodos get anywhere near the oval office is if the Clinton Administration hires them to paint its walls.
