Anyone?

Louisiana "Governor" Bobby Jindal this week reinstated a provision requiring food stamp recipients without dependents who are able physically to work 20 hours a week--even though the federal government, which pays for said food stamps, granted Louisiana a waiver from the provision because the job market in Louisiana is currently so bad.

Someday, someone is going to have to explain to me the republican determination to fuck over the poor every chance they get--and why anyone who wasn't rich or a racist would continue to vote for their candidates.  As the article states, the move by Jindal will neither save Louisiana any money nor create jobs the recipients need.  Further, Jindal's successor, Democrat Bel Edwards, has already vowed to rescind Jindal's order, though it will still cause suffering for several weeks.  And denying food to hungry folks is hardly Christian and certainly not something that makes America great.

A spokesman for Jindal said, "The best way to break the cycle of poverty is for individuals to get jobs and get off of government assistance."  The sheer and utter ignorance of that statement is beyond being quantifiable.  If thinking "Hey, I'm starving--I know, I'll go get a job!" actually worked, fucking nobody in America who was hungry would not have a job.

Fortunately for the good people of Louisiana, Jindal's political career is over.  Unfortunately for the rest of us, it just means Jindal will turn to some conservative media outlet and continue to spread his hate, ignorance, and callousness while getting paid a fortune to do so.

And, one supposes, twenty hours of work a week ought to provide his family with innumerable feasts, quite unlike the 31,000 constituents who Jindal has left to starve.

Bobby goes bust

Bobby Jindal suspended his Presidential campaign today, saying "...this is not my time."

Judging from his disastrous track record as Governor of Louisiana, "his time" probably won't be in 2020, 2024, 2028, 2032, 2036, or 2040, either.

Checks, balances, and idiots

Yet another example of how ignorant the republican party has become:

Genius Bobby Jindal, overcome with grief between the Supreme Court upholding Obamacare and making marriage equality the law of the land (never mind the fifteen thousand decisions the Roberts' Court has handed down that were pro Corporate America), suggested this week that we could save money by disbanding the Supreme Court.

Ahem.

Not sure about Gov. Jindal, but I, back in the days when I was in junior high, was taught about the three branches of our government--executive, legislative, and judicial, for our republican friends--and the sheer brilliance of our Founding Fathers by creating checks and balances between the three so that any one of them could not run roughshod unilaterally over the American people.

Apparently to Jindal, the Founding Fathers were only competent when they were making America a Christian nation based upon the Bible.

Mr. Delusional

Of all the Presidential candidates running for their party's nomination in 2016, the most delusional has got to be Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, who announced his candidacy for the Presidency today.

Don't get me wrong--there are many candidates who have no chance to win (yes, you Rick Santorum..er, Donald Trump) or are more likely (however unlikely) running for the Vice Presidency (see also, George Pataki, Carly Fiorina).  Santorum, Trump, and Ben Carson are in it for the money.  Pataki and Fiorina are hoping for a miracle.  Rick Perry just wants a little redemption (and good luck with that, sir).  But Jindal?  You get the feeling he really thinks he can be the next President.

Yup.

Never mind the fact that his governorship has been a disaster for Louisiana.  Never mind the fact that Jindal has the lowest approval ratings of any Governor in America.  Never mind that he has all the charisma of a white wall.  Hell, never mind that Jindal gets down on his hands and knees every night and gives thanks for Marco Rubio's disastrous State of the Union response in 2013 so just maybe America will forget that in his own response in 2009 Jindal was as stiff as three week old roadkill.

Nope, Jindal still believes the bygone hype and thinks if he kisses enough republican base ass he can be our next President.  But so, too, could Homer Simpson--if only he wasn't a cartoon buffoon.

Sort of like Bobby Jindal.

Jellyfish

In an effort to stave off his ever increasing irrelevance, Rudy Giulani this week claimed that President Obama doesn't love America.

Never having met a tea party ass he wouldn't kiss, Bobby Jindal was quick to join the other two Americans on the Giulani bandwagon and agree with the former mayor.

Scott Walker on the other hand, as he did with the Theory of Evolution, was quick to parse out a no comment--which begs the question of whether or not the Wisconsin Governor has a thought in his head that doesn't involve fucking over workers and educators.

And this, my friends, is what passes for "leadership" in the republican party.
