After four years of Donald Trump, it's not often that a headline stuns me, but when I read this weekend that multiple states allow a rapist to sue for parental custody in rape-related pregnancies, it set me off on a tirade as to whether or not it was possible for America to get more fucked up than it currently is.
But for all my outrage, it's but a grain of sand in the Gobi Desert compared to the pain, heartache, and trauma for those women who have to face their rapist in a court of law to trying to protect her child from the horror of spending weekends with the cretin who raped their mother.
A civilized society can and should do better than this.
