Remove him Attorney General Todd Blanche insisted there’s “nothing inconsistent” about his intent to protect police officers and President Donald Trump’s pardons for the more than 170 people who attacked officers on January 6. www.mediaite.com/media/news/h...

Trump's toadie

United States Attorney General Todd Blanche said he's “not going to pledge” complete independence from the White House during an interview with NBC's “Meet the Press” on Sunday. It comes as the Justice Department has faced accusations of political dealing on the president's behalf.

$100 to anyone that goes Meet The PressπŸ™„πŸ™„ & has the balls to call out Kristin Welker laughing it up with Stephen Miller at that bullshit WHCD. Seriously at what point do we admit that they are part of the problem?

Snowflakes falling in Wisconsin

WOW - Trump crashes out & cuts his interview w/ Welker short as she presses him on his lack of evidence for claiming elections are rigged "You're either crooked or you're stupid. I've had enough. Thank you darling," he tells her" "I traveled all the way to Wisconsin for this interview," she pleads

Sen. Chris Murphy to NBC on Democratic opposition to the GOP mega-bill: "What we're standing in the way of is the most massive transfer of wealth from the poor and the middle class to the rich in the history of the country."

Going, going, gone?

Thankfully, people have the power because journalism is no help at all

While much has been made of Donald Trump's lies (and what a surprise that was) while he was being interviewed by NBC's Chuck Todd on Meet the Press this past weekend, not nearly enough has been made about Todd's facile response to said lies and his simplistic follow-up questions.  Todd's performance was nothing less than embarrassing.

In fairness, I've always thought Chuck Todd was to journalism what raw liver is to a chocolate sundae, but still you'd think a journalist with national presence could manage to do a little better than to cower before an impotent leader and mail his performance in.

Pitiful.

Chuckles

So...Chuck Todd (perfectly understandable if you're reaction is "Who?") has written a book called The Stranger in which he takes potshots at President Obama.

Leaving aside the fact that the Meet the Press moderator must have only read the Cliff's Notes version of Albert Camus' esteemed novel, why is anyone surprised by this?  The only people who read books like this are either a) insiders, or b) old white people (probably the same ones who are the only people to actually watch his show).  For insiders, it reinforces their world view of Obama; old white people voted against him overwhelmingly twice and it will only reinforce their hatred of the President.

Todd didn't set out to write a Pulitzer winner--he set out to make money.  Hatin' on the Democrats is a (minor) lottery winner.

Just ask Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity, ad nauseum.

Whither journalistic curiosity?

The NSA spying revelations really aren't my forte (not that anything else I write about is, but you know...) but I found it quite interesting that Mike Rogers (R-MI)--my very own Congressman--Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), and Rep. Mike McCaul (R-TX) all were on Meet the Press and This Week with George Stephanopoulos this past weekend pushing the idea that Edward Snowden must have had help with the NSA leaks (most notably, from Russia) without producing a single shred of evidence to prove it so (in fairness to Feinstein, she at least admitted as much).

Both David Gregory and Stephanopoulos questioned the allegations--which to me seem of a bombshell type nature--but both seemed quite content to let the matter drop without pushing much harder than a dried leaf does against the wind.

What...the...fuck?  Really?  Three members of Congress make wild ass claims about foreign governments helping to leak our very own NSA information on national TV news shows and not one of these journalists jumps up and down like a fucking monkey screaming "Proof!  Proof! Proof!"

Thank God these fuckers weren't around during Watergate--Nixon probably would have been able to circumvent the Constitution and win a third term as President.

Amateur Hour

Wow--how to do major damage to your political bona fides in just a few short minutes.  Well done, Mayor Cory Booker!  At the start of today, you were a rising star in the Democratic Party, but after appearing on Meet the Press and calling President Obama's attack ads on Mitt Romney's record at Bain Capital "nauseating" you've pretty much lost the base--permanently.  You can't be a progressive on some issues and not on the ones that matter most--mainly looking after the 99%--and expect our support.  That's exactly the problem we have with the "Liberal" media.

I have no doubt you'll probably move on to bigger and better things--but today you've cost yourself a lot of money over the years (the base donates) and quite a few votes (the base shows up in huge numbers).  But even more important, you've lost their hearts.  We fight a lot harder when we believe.

Nice try on walking back those "nauseating" comments you made--when you end up as republican fodder for Willard's campaign, it's way too little, way too late.

emaycee
