Sheep to slaughter

AIG CEO Bob Benmosche told The Wall Street Journal this week that the anger and outrage over bonuses bestowed upon AIG executives after receiving a bailout with our tax dollars was just as bad as the lynch mobs and lynchings that once occurred in the deep South.

Leaving aside how heinous it is to compare people being angry about your greed to people getting murdered because of the color of their skin, and leaving aside the chutzpah it takes to whine in the face of people still struggling financially after said people bailed your incompetent ass out...

...you have to wonder how bright it is for a guy making seven figures for basically being an asshole to mention lynch mobs to the millions of Americans living paycheck to paycheck, to the millions who fell into poverty because of his idiocy, and the even more millions who believe bank executives are the moral equivalent of cousin Kevin from The Who's Tommy.

Lemon socialism

Lemon socialism--a term I heard for the first time today--refers to to those brave souls on Wall Street and within corporate America who want to stick U. S. taxpayers with their losses and keep the profits for themselves.

It's good to know that instead of the best and brightest, our job "creators" are really the gutless and the castrated.

I note this because it seems AIG--the insurance giant we bailed out with our tax dollars that could have gone instead to infrastructure or education or helping the poor--is considering joining a lawsuit seeking monetary damages by equally despicable AIG shareholders who feel the terms of our bailout were too "harsh."

The poor little fucking crybabies.

It's enough to make a fucking maggot puke.

Daddy, what does gall mean?

Well,  my son, a good example would be this:

Seems one Harvey Golub, an investment banker (cue roll of the eyes) and one-time chairman of AIG  ($182.3 billion U. S. government bailout, AIG that is) thinks that President Obama violated every principle of bankruptcy proceedings because he gave too much to the UAW (those moneybags auto workers) and disregarded the bondholders when the U.S. government bailed out the auto industry with one-third what they gave just to AIG, $63.4 billion.

What is it with the wealthy that any time the working man catches a piddling break it just busts their buttons?  And what part of "free enterprise" don't they get?  Isn't investing in a company always a bit of a crap shoot?  I mean it's not enough that the rich catch and can buy every break possible, they want us to load the dice when they invest, too?

For fuck's sake, Francis.

By the way, son, in case you were wondering what delusional means, check out Mr. Golub's prediction at the end of the article that Mitt Romney will win the Presidency by "five or six points" and have a mandate.  Maybe in Backwater, U.S.A., but the rest of us live in Realityville and we'll be giving President Obama a comfortable victory come November 6th.
