Soulless ghouls

Just like the weapon that cut Jamal Khashoggi into pieces

Normally, I'm all for any athlete making as much money as they can--their careers are often short, can fade in an instant, and they generate untold millions for their corporate overlords.  And had the LIV Golf Series originated in Japan or Mexico or Australia I wouldn't have batted an eye as numerous professional golfers bolted the PGA for greener pastures.

But when an association is the brainchild of Saudi Arabia, led by Mohammed bin Salman whose claims to fame include responsibility for the torture and murder (his henchman, the Tiger Squad, literally cut Khashoggi into pieces while he was alive) of journalist Jamal Khashoggi for being critical of Saudi Arabia's piss poor record on human rights, the murder of countless civilians, including women and children, in Yemen with reckless bombing, as well as the crushing of women's rights...something isn't quite right with selling their souls to the highest bidder.  And for men who are paid quite handsomely for basically hitting a ball into a hole with a stick, it's unforgivable.

And also note that their spokesman is Ari Fleischer, George W. Bush's former press secretary whose resume includes helping Bush lie America into the Iraq War (5000 dead Americans, 30,0000 wounded, and over a trillion dollars wasted for nothing), helping to out CIA agent Valerie Plame, and defending Bush's use of torture, forever destroying America's credibility on the world stage.

And just because it's not surprising that a bunch of pampered rich boys wouldn't give a fuck about anyone but themselves, doesn't make it any less disgusting.

One does have to wonder, though, how long it will be before some sect, similar to ISIS or Al-Qaeda, takes a dislike to a bunch of rich white boys taking home so much Saudi Arabian cash while their fellow Arabic citizens wallow in poverty and numbing human rights abuse, and decides to take matters into their own hands....

Yes, yes it does

Phil Mickelson ( who, after his last political debacle--whining about paying taxes after getting paid millions to hit a little ball into a hole with a stick--you'd think would wise up and stay out of political debates) said this week that Donald Trumps racist comments didn't negate all the good he's done for golf.

Leaving aside the inflated sense of importance Mickelson conflates with hitting a little ball into a hole with a stick, this is akin to saying "Just because Hitler killed six million Jews doesn't take away all he did to help Germany rebuild its economy during the Great Depression."

Bank robbers don't get a pass on their jail sentence because they once helped a little old lady across the street, and Trump doesn't get a pass on his racism because he built a fucking golf course.  Period.

Phuck you

Seems Phil Mickelson won $2.2 million dollars for winning two golf tournaments over the course of two weeks in the British Isles, and after taxes, he "only" cleared $900,000 for hitting a little ball across a lot of grass into a hole.  This, Mickelson claims is making it hard to motivate himself to work harder.

Setting aside the fact that Mickelson should get down on his hands and knees every single day for the rest of his life and give thanks for getting paid an exorbitant amount of money for playing a game that serves no discernible good whatsoever for the fate of the planet, can you imagine the uproar if a real athlete, like Tom Brady or Derek Jeter, had said the same about the taxes they pay?  Instead, the "readers" of Breitfart act as if Mickelson is Nelson fucking Mandela.

If it's such a burden, though, Mickelson can always retire and manage retail stores for a living.  He'd quickly find that fear of starvation and homelessness are excellent motivators for working harder.

At the very least he'd learn--as I have--that having a gut that hangs over your belt sure gets in the way when you're trying to pick up all the shit customers drop on the salesfloor.

A fine pair (of assholes)

Seems Phil Mickelson, professional golfer extraordinaire, got into a wee bit of a kerfuffle by proclaiming that California's tax rate was just too darn burdensome for a poor guy making $60 million dollars a year hitting a little ball into a hole with a stick.  Mickelson quickly apologized, perhaps realizing that the legion of golf fans who spend their hard earned dollars on the shit he endorses may not respond too empathetically to his, uh, dilemma.  Mickeson also threatened to retire, until reality snuck in and he realized that $60 million a year jobs are pretty darn rare.

Tiger Woods quickly offered support for Mickelson, saying the reason he had moved from California to Florida (where there is no state income tax, and unlike any other state, a tourist trade that makes this entirely possible) was because of tax issues.  Woods, as many heard, showed his true character when he cried into a phone asking his mistress to not tell Mommy that he'd been a bad boy.  Ever since, I can't look at Woods without thinking, "You should have manned up.  What a wimp!"

Apparently, it's never dawned on these two prima donnas that it takes taxes to build the roads their fans travel on, taxes to educate the people who build their expensive homes and cars, and that taxes have probably paid for many of the golf courses they play on.  But heaven forbid multi-millionaires should have to help pay for it--let the lowky shlubs making peanuts pay for all of it.  Because, you know, hitting a little ball into a hole with a stick has solved so many of the world's problems.

Listening to them about their money problems makes me very glad I believe in God--because I'm sure at the end of their days She's going to slap the living shit out of both of them for being such disgusting assholes.
