This is not the future of America

May you rot and burn in hell...

While today will probably rank third all-time for me in terms of angst, anger, and disgust with the American political system (after 1) Trump winning the election, and 2) Bush defeating Kerry in 2004) in my heart I know this is just one step back before we take two steps forward.  The confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh, perjurer and sexual deviant, is the last gasp of white American men.  And watching them stumble over their words, lie profusely, and overall embarrass themselves and our nation with their hubris tells me that I am right.

They are not the future of America.  We are.

And if that's not enough, remember the words often quoted by (it's actually from Theodore Parker, a 19th century American clergyman) one of history's greatest Americans:

"The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice..."

Never fucking stop believing we will win in the end.

Fuck Donald Trump,

The 2016 dumb ass

Sen. Orrin Asshat (R-Utah) was speaking to the Federalist Society recently where he referred to us as "dumb ass Liberals" and said republicans should keep the filibuster reform laws in place to give Democrats "a taste of their own medicine." (And what a surprise that last one was--methinks they protested so much about filibuster reform because they didn't get to do it first.)

On the bright side, Asshat proves once again that my worries of republicans actually learning to govern are overblown--they're going to go on being their ignorant-ass selves and watch once again from the sidelines as we put another Democrat in the White House and republicans once more become the minority party in the Senate.

Because republicans don't give a shit about America--the only thing they love are throwaway sound bites that keep their dim-witted base fired up over nothing.

Onward "Christian" Soldiers

"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'"
                                                                                                 Matthew 25:40

Apparently Orrin Hatch (R-Hades) thinks the poor in this country just aren't paying their share--obviously, not having any money isn't a very good excuse.  Never mind that Hatch can't get his facts straight (he claims 51% of Americans don't pay taxes, a figure which includes senior citizens, children, and those who don't make enough to file federal taxes and ignores state and sales taxes which the poor most assuredly pay), what kills me about Hatch's idiotic rant is that he's purportedly a Christian.

Now I'm not a theologian, but if I read the above Bible passage correctly, that means that Hatch thinks Jesus should pay more taxes.  Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I don't recall anything in the Bible about Jesus' mansion, Jesus' beemer, or Jesus' bling.  In fact, I'm pretty sure that all that Jesus owned were the clothes on his back and perhaps a donkey--in short, he was poor.  And, according to Sen. Hatch, a leach.

Ought to make for a pretty darn uncomfortable Judgment Day for old Orrin....
