Donald Trump puts the "I" in incompetence

 Unsurprisingly, the folks at Merriam-Webster have named "pandemic" as their word of the year.  While it's hard to quibble with a word that has changed our lives over the past year more than any of us had ever imagined, I think another word that sums up much of the reason we are in such dire straits is "incompetence."

Some examples:

• Due to the utter incompetence of Donald Trump, 280,000 Americans have died of COVID-19 this year.
• The incompetence of Mike Pence in leading the coronavirus task force has led to uneven levels of mask usage, which if done properly, would have led the United States to have had far fewer cases which in turn would have also allowed businesses to open fully and Americans to have been able to spend the holidays much more safely like the folks in France, Japan, and New Zealand (to name but a very few of the nations who handled with pandemic with competence).
• Rudy Giuliani and his crack team of Bozos incompetence in litigating the election results, which has now led them to lose more than thirty cases to their lone victory, is staggering in its unprecedented record of failure.
• The stunning incompetence of Mitch McConnell and Senate republicans in realizing the damage being done to America's economy because of the pandemic will lead to hundreds of thousands of Americans to slip into poverty, go hungry, and lose their homes.  
• Thankfully, the incompetence of the unqualified and unintelligent Betsy DeVos will make fixing whatever changes she made as Secretary of Education much easier, and our public schools will once again be a beacon of this country's spirit.
• Never underestimate the incompetence of republican politicians--there is nothing good that they cannot mismanage, and nothing bad that they cannot make worse.

A  shitshow.  A dumpster fire.  A monkey throwing his own shit.  A shit-stravaganza.  A puke spewing volcano.  An exploding cesspool.

These are just a handful of terms I heard used to describe Donald Trump's performance at the debate with future President Joe Biden last night.  (Note:  I didn't watch--I can't even read the mother fucker's tweets let alone actually watch Trump in person.)

Trump's performance was so fantastic that the Biden campaign set an hourly record for cash donations and accumulated $10 million in three hours, signed up almost 100,000 volunteers, and a voter campaign had 24,000 people register to vote.

I've been trying to not say this so as not to jinx the Biden campaign, but with barely more than a month to go before the election it's becoming increasingly hard to see how Donald Trump can win.  The debates were his last chance to attract new voters which he desperately needs considering how far down he is and there is no way any of the suburban women he needs to woo looked at his performance last night and decided to vote for Trump.  And how many undecided voters do you think after the debate thought, "Yes, a hate spewing raving lunatic who can't condemn white supremacists is just what America needs for the next four years!"

Trump may have thrilled his followers, but he also more than likely sealed his crushing defeat.

The incompetence is palpable

Donald Trump's campaign sent out an e-mail earlier this evening loudly proclaiming that Trump had won the first debate with Joe Biden.

Unfortunately for the Trump team, the debate has yet to take place.

Again, with all of the crises facing our country right now this may seem like a small matter, but once again it goes to show the utter incompetence of Donald Trump and his entire administration.  Competent leaders do not make such mistakes.

 In his never ending quest to find a weakness to question Joe Biden's ability to be President, Donald Trump's pea-sized brain has hit upon PED's--that Biden must have been using a stimulant to increase his acuity in the Democratic debates after his poor early showings.  Once again we have Trump questioning Biden's mental abilities when Trump himself...

• Had extreme difficulty walking down a low grade ramp
• Has at times been unable to drink a glass of water with less than two hands
• Possibly had a mini stroke last year
• Has been rumored to snort aderall
• Had his son and his girlfriend deliver a pair of cocaine fueled rants at the republican convention to literally millions of Americans

I know I've said it a time or two before, but you just cannot make this stuff up.

The Democratic wave on November 3rd

Republicans are looking at three potential roadblocks in the next six weeks, any of which could be the size of Mount Everest, in front of their electoral chances come November.  To wit:

• The economic recovery is far from being complete.  The jobs numbers for August were helped immensely by Census hiring--all of which will be disappearing at the end of September.  Private sector jobs since the start of the pandemic have only grown .9%.  The loss of the $600 stipend for the unemployed is going to cut into consumer spending...which is already down due to folks judging that getting the coronavirus isn't worth buying a set of bath towels.  Mediocre or bad jobs results the first week of October or November, or another dip in consumer spending would all but doom them on November 3rd.
• Remember how approximately six weeks after Memorial Day coronavirus cases and deaths began spiking because people weren't cautious with masks and social distancing?  And how it happened again after the Fourth of July?  Well, Americans were idiots again over the Labor Day weekend, so about two weeks before the election chances are we're going to see another jump in COVID-19 cases and deaths.  Considering the pandemic is Americans' number one issue this election, another spike will not be good news for republicans.
• Does anyone really believe that a man who has shown again and again that he's dumb, doesn't prepare or study, can't stay on message, and has the attention span of a three year old is going to nail the upcoming Presidential debates?  Yeah, me either.  It's hard to imagine piss poor debate performances will cut into Biden's already substantial leads in key battleground states.

After 2016 I wouldn't begin to predict how political races will turn out this November, but it's not hard to see that republicans chances are a lot closer to doomed than they are to victory.
