 Over the course of the last several days, at one time or another Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, and Nancy Pelosi have all referred to Donald Trump as our worst President ever.  It is a course that Democrats of all stripe would be wise to follow--having lived through the Ronald Reagan years, I distinctly remember him being considered an average President at best until the right wing and its media began blitz after blitz of telling people how great Reagan had been.  This led to his legacy--which was horrid, especially for the middle class, the poor, and people of color--becoming much more rose colored than the truth.

The last narrative we need is to give any credence to any idea that Donald Trump was a credible President.  He was an inexorable disaster and we need to repeat it again and again until he's relegated to the same dustbin that holds James Buchanan and Andrew Johnson, two other Presidents who did their best to oversee the ruin of America.

We do not need monuments to a treasonous racist boor like Donald Trump any more than we need monuments to racist traitors like Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee.

I had a good laugh this week

Guffaw or gut buster, you decide!

Though I stopped reading any of Donald Trump's tweets (yawn) or what he says in interviews (yawn again) a while back, I still see the headlines and read some of the reporting on whatever bullshit he's disseminating, and I usually have one of two reactions:  90% of the time it's anger, and the other 10% of the time it's utter bewilderment at the sheer scope of ignorance.  Never once have I laughed--until this week.

Seems Trump was being interviewed and was asked to give himself a grade for his Presidency, and Trump answered A+.  He further compounded the lunacy when he claimed that the stock market would crash if he was impeached based on what was inside his head--and  everyone who knew air was responsible for the stock market tanking please raise your hand....  There's was something about the profound delusion displayed by Trump, a man who in a little less than two years has managed to stake a virtually unchallenged claim as the worst President in our history, that was truly funny.

Seriously, the whole spectacle was a bit like watching someone noticing there was a stink floating throughout the room and not realizing it was caused by their own fart.

P.T. Barnum famously said there's a sucker born every minute, and "authors" Matt Margolis and Mark Noonan are putting that assertion to the test once again by releasing a book that claims (all evidence to the contrary) Barack Obama is the worst President in U.S. History.

Ahem.

You have to be a serious fucking idiot and/or a Ku Klux Klan type racist to believe that President Obama is the worst President ever, especially in light of the fact that he followed a President, George W. Bush, who actually was one of the most incompetent Presidents we've ever had, if not the most incompetent.

But you can guarantee that scores of suckers will shell out $25 to have their worldview confirmed, all the while living in an alternate reality where they believe the people they vote for actually do give a shit about them, and all those goodies for the wealthy will eventually "trickle down."  And good fucking luck with that one.

Mark these words:  When all is said and done, Barack Obama will go down as the fourth greatest President ever, after Lincoln, Roosevelt, and Washington.  Moreover, it will be richly deserved.

And the best part will be watching republicans choke on it.
